Several years ago I came to Meadowood Nursing Center after falling down a steep hill. Until then wheelchairs were used by others, not me but soon I learned the fine art of navigating the center while sitting down. Since then I have progressed from wheelchair to a 2-wheeled walker then gradually to a 4-wheeled walker. Life here is enjoyable as center and staff offer a multitude of resources from medical assistance, table games, computer access, cards, art classes, karaoke, TV with over 50 channels, physical workout room, great food and movies. Meals are fresh, tasty and just the right amount for each resident depending upon his or her nutritional requirements and tastes. Vegetarian meals are always available to those who desire them. Residents are reassured to know that staff are available 24/7 and questions can be answered any time of the day or night. My goal is to advance to the point where I can walk without any assistance or device whatsoever at which point my family, center staff and I will discuss next steps.
